Taylor Barbee

Breakroom Jerky

by Wilson Rotary

My name is Taylor Barbee and I moved back to my hometown of Wilson nearly two years ago. I graduated from Hunt High School in 2011 and headed to Wilmington to attend UNCW. After three short years, I made the decision to drop out of school and pursue a career in the service industry. By the time I was 22, I had been promoted to Assistant Manager and by 24, I was the General Manager for a multimillion dollar seafood restaurant. When COVID made it’s appearance, my love for this industry started to fizzle out. So in 2020, and after many years of pleading, I decided to move back home and work for the family business, Construct Inc.

The 40 hour a week desk job just wasn’t fulfilling enough, so I dove headfirst back into the industry and picked up a bartending job as well. Through that job, I met so many wonderful people. These supportive people pushed me to open up my first business, Breakroom Jerky, which quickly turned into a local hit.
